"Heard an early demo of my new single leaked," the pop star tweeted along with the cover art for her song. "If u think that's good, wait til you hear the real one Tuesday."
Producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin worked with singer-songwriter Bonnie McKee, who laid vocals down for the track. It's very common for other vocalists to record demo versions of songs before artists re-record them. The final versions can be very different from the demos, which Britney and her producers say is true about this song.
'Hold It Against Me' is the first single from the recent 'Glee' guest star's as-yet-untitled new album, set to be released in March. As Britney herself confirmed, the final version of the single will be unveiled on January 11.
