"Taylor Swift Tells a Sad Tale in Her Unreleased Song 'Brought Up That Way'!"

With three albums under her belt, Taylor Swift definitely has some songs that have landed on the cutting room floor. Now an unreleased track called 'Brought Up That Way' has hit the Web, showing a more somber side of the country star.

As we all know, the 21-year-old singer has used many of her past relationships and experiences as inspiration for her songs, but 'Brought Up That Way' has a different vibe -- it features the storytelling nature of traditional country music.
In the song, we're told about a girl named Emily, who has a father who works to protect his daughter throughout her life. Whether she's being bullied at school or mistreated by a guy, he tries to instill strength in her.

But, the song takes a tragic turn in the end, and is a far cry from the romantic images that Taylor so often paints. We're not sure when the track was recorded, but it sounds like an old demo. Listen to the song below. What do you think? Do you like this side of Taylor? Would you want to hear more songs like this from her?

"David Archuleta Unreleased Song 'Senseless' Hits the Web"

David Archuleta is still making fans happy with his latest album, 'The Other Side of Down,' but now a new unreleased song called 'Senseless' has hit the Web, causing major buzz among Archies all over.

The song was written and previously performed by James Fauntleroy, an R&B singer who also wrote Jordin Sparks' 'No Air' and several songs on Rihanna's last album. 'Senseless' was reportedly recorded for David's debut record, but never made the cut.
The song talks about a girl who has just broken the singer's heart. It's a painful situation that David is trying to deal with. "Now I'm senseless / Got no feelings left / My pain won't let this heart beat in my chest / Now I'm senseless / Why are we doing this? /I'm so losing it, oh oh, senseless."

"Britney Spears 'Hold It Against Me' Demo Leaks Online"

Last month, Britney Spears announced that her new single, 'Hold It Against Me,' would be released in January, but now a demo version of the song has leaked online. However, Britney isn't the one singing on the track.

"Heard an early demo of my new single leaked," the pop star tweeted along with the cover art for her song. "If u think that's good, wait til you hear the real one Tuesday."

Producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin worked with singer-songwriter Bonnie McKee, who laid vocals down for the track. It's very common for other vocalists to record demo versions of songs before artists re-record them. The final versions can be very different from the demos, which Britney and her producers say is true about this song.

'Hold It Against Me'
is the first single from the recent 'Glee' guest star's as-yet-untitled new album, set to be released in March. As Britney herself confirmed, the final version of the single will be unveiled on January 11.
In the electronic-based song, the singer has her eyes on a guy and doesn't want to let him go. "If I said my heart was beating loud / If we could escape the crowd somehow / If I said I want your body now / Would you hold it against me?"

"Hold It Against Me" is a song by American recording artist Britney Spears. It was released as the first single from her upcoming seventh studio album. "Hold It Against Me" was written by Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Bonnie McKee and Billboard, while being produced by Luke, Martin and Billboard. After a demo version of the song performed by McKee was leaked, the finished version premiered on January 10, 2011. Musically, "Hold It Against Me" features industrial beats, a dubstep-influenced breakdown and a final chorus with elements of rave. The lyrics portray the singer seducing someone on the dancefloor, while the chorus revolves around pick-up lines. Most critics praised the song, although some criticized its lyrical content. "Hold It Against Me" debuted at number eleven on the Finnish Singles Chart and number six on the Irish Singles Chart. A music video for the song is set to be filmed in the third week of January 2011.

Listen to the demo version of 'Hold It Against Me' below, and let us know what you think of it in the comments.

"Taylor Swift On CoverGirl"

Last May, Taylor Swift announced that she would be the new spokesperson for CoverGirl. She said she was "so excited" about her new gig, and admired the "confident" artists and actresses that have been chosen to rep the brand in the past.

Since signing her deal, Tay has released two commercials for the cosmetics company, the second of which just began airing last week. It shows the 21-year-old country star wearing a signature sparkly dress and working the camera with fiery red lips, representing "the next generation of beautiful."
The commercial is meant to inspire a younger group of customers to log into Facebook, and, as Taylor says, "Join the beauty movement to help all of us rock the cover girls we are." But are you guys buying it?

Maybe. When we asked you what you thought of Taylor's CoverGirl deal, 63 percent of you said it was awesome news, while 14 percent of you simply thought it was cool. However, 22 percent said the singer was taking on too many endorsements.

What do you think about seeing Taylor's face on TV now that her commercials are out? Watch her latest ad here, and peep her first commercial, which arrived in early December, below it.

Taylor Swift is making headlines once again. Billboard and Nielsen Soundscan named the 21-year-old country star the top-selling artist of 2010 for the second time in three years. But that's not all -- Tay also goes down in history as Billboard's most-played artist for the second year in a row.

Taylor also told the country blog that she's more comfortable expressing her true feelings through song, even though, "many more people are going to hear than if I just sent a text message," she admits.

"Taylor Swift Tries to Make Amends in Her 'Back to December' Video"

Taylor Swift has released her new video for 'Back to December,' the second single from her latest album, 'Speak Now.' The 21-year-old country star has created yet another memorable video with her imagery, and it was totally worth the wait.

As you know, the remorseful song is rumored to be about Taylor Lautner with whom the singer had a brief relationship in 2009. "It addresses a first for me in that I've never apologized in song," she says. "The person I wrote this song about deserves this. This is about a person who was incredible to me, just perfect to me in a relationship, and I was really careless with him."
Although the concept is simple, there's no lacking for emotion here. Taylor is shown in her home, wrapped up in a cozy sweater while she mourns over a breakup. She's done a few things she's not proud of and decides to all of her regrets down on paper.

Meanwhile, we see her ex walking through the snow-covered town, trying to make sense of everything. He's obviously hurt, and doesn't know what to do with himself. In the end, we see Taylor putting her note into the pocket of her ex's coat. There's a pile of his things at the foot of her stairs, waiting to be picked up.

Watch the full video below. What do you think? Do you like the concept of the video? Do you think Taylor Lautner approves? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

"Taylor Swift Back To December Video Release"

"Back to December" is a country pop song performed by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. The song was written solely by Swift and produced by Nathan Chapman together with Swift. It was released on November 15, 2010, by Big Machine Records as the second single from Swift's third studio album, Speak Now. According to Swift, "Back to December" is the first time she ever apologizes to someone in a song, something that she never did before. Upon its release as a promotional single, critics speculated that the song is about Taylor Lautner, Swift's ex-boyfriend, although neither Swift nor Lautner has confirmed nor denied these allegations. "Back to December" is considered an orchestral country pop ballad and its lyrics are a remorseful plea for forgiveness for breaking up with a former lover.

"Back to December" was positively received by critics, who regarded it as one of the highlights of Speak Now. Critics have praised the song for its expressive lyrics, its indelible melody, and Swift's vocal improvement. The song enjoyed commercial success in United States, debuting at number six on the Billboard Hot 100, and at number seven in Canada. Internationally, the song received moderate success, peaking at number twenty-four in New Zealand, and number twenty-six in Australia.
The song's accompanying music video was directed Yoann Lemoine, which laments the aftermath of a break-up between Swift and her boyfriend during one snowy morning. The music video garners mixed to positive receptions from critics, who praise the spectacular visual sense in portraying the somber yet melancholic mood although in general, its inadequate narrative is being criticized. Following promotion, Swift has performed "Back to December" in several live appearances, notably at the 44th annual Country Music Association Awards and at the 38th American Music Awards.

According to Swift, "Back to December" is an apology to a former lover in the form of a song, something that she has never done before. She continued, "I've never felt the need to apologize in a song before. But in the last two years I've experienced a lot, [including] a lot of different kinds of learning lessons. And sometimes you learn a lesson too late and at that point you need to apologize because you were careless." Based on the lyrics, critics have speculated that the song is Swift's apology to her ex-boyfriend, The Twilight Saga actor Taylor Lautner. However, neither Swift nor Lautner has confirmed or denied these rumors. "Back to December" was first released as a promotional single from Speak Now on October 12, 2010 as an exclusive campaign by the iTunes Store leading up to the album release. On November 15, 2010, the song was then released as the second single from Speak Now.

"Back to December"'s accompanying music video was directed by Yoann Lemoine, who directed Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream." Swift's love interest in the video was played by male model, Guntars Asmanis. It premiered on January 13, 2011, on Country Music Television and Great American Country. It has been reported that parts of the video were filmed in Binghamton, New York, in MacArthur Park. Critical receptions towards the music video are mixed to positive. Jillian Mapes of Billboard believed that the video is "appropriately understated" considering the fact that the song is all about making an apology. Tamar Anitai of MTV described the video as "a bummer", writing "[It] isn't just about a girl with her calendar permanently stuck on the twelfth month of the year. It's not just about feeling like a Lady Antebellum song. It's about getting stuck in a place of romantic regret." In a different perspective, Kyle Anderson of MTV argued that the music video puts Swift in a "pantheon of modern classics" with regards to its "almost haunting visual sense" which makes up for the inadequate narrative. Leah Collins of Dose.ca called the music video as "dreamy and moody". Her points are echoed by Leah Greenblatt of Entertainment Weekly, who deemed the video as "kind of lovely", which corresponds with the melancholic yet regretful mood of the song.Joycelyn Vena of MTV noticed that the video is "darker" and "somber", something that is not synonymous with the Swift.
The video begins when a handsome young man is seen walking alone in a small town to the snowy football fields in a morning winter. A cut-scene shows Swift inside a house wearing a comfy sweater draped over one shoulder, brooding and singing about her lost love. About half way through, it starts to snow inside the spacious house. A montage of Swift writing a letter is shown alternately with scenes of her boyfriend strolling around the town. It is then revealed that the whole situation is the aftermath of a break-up between Swift and her boyfriend. It is also shown that Swift slips the letter that she has written in his coat pocket before he leaves. The final scene shows her bereft paramour sitting in the bleachers, reading her break-up letter.
